The NSW Government is investing $6.85 million through its Restart Safe and Secure Water Program along with over $75 million from Central Coast Council to bring the landmark development to fruition and lock in the region’s water future.
The Mardi Water Treatment Plant, known to provide around half of all drinking water to the Central Coast, is currently undergoing an $82.5 million upgrade, that will result in future proofing and ensuring that it can continue to deliver safe and secure water to the greater Central Coast population.
Once complete, the Mardi Water Treatment Plant will be able to treat up to the equivalent of 64 Olympic-sized swimming pools, providing drinking water for over 210,000 homes and businesses across the Central Coast and the lower Hunter.
