The Port Hedland Laboratory services the Mid-West, Gascoyne, Pilbara and Kimberley regions of Western Australia. The laboratory started out as an annex facility in February, but then transitioned to a branch in April of 2023.

The Coffey Testing team in Port Hedland have contributed to various projects, including the GNH Road Widening, the GNH Bridge over BHPWAIO Rail, Spoilbank Marina 4 Redevelopment, Pippingarra Works and BHP Rail Renewal Program.
