In collaboration with Fulton Hogan, Coffey Testing is proudly providing the geotechnical testing for Contract 2 (Pumicestone Road to Steve Irwin Way section) of the Bruce Highway: Caboolture-Bribie Island Road to Steve Irwin Way (Exit 163) (C2SIW) project.

The C2SIW project will widen an 11km stretch of the Bruce Highway from 4 to 6 lanes between Caboolture-Bribie Island Road and Steve Irwin Way (Exit 163) and upgrade the creek crossings to improve flood immunity. Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments, this $662.5 million Transport and Main Roads Queensland (TMR) project is expected to be completed by late 2023.

Photo: Our C2SIW team were out and about before sunrise to complete concrete testing for an early morning pour. This particular pour is for the bridge headstock heading southbound at Six Mile Creek; the first of three new southbound bridges currently under construction as part of Contract 2.

Our team successfully managed a multifaceted project that encompassed various critical components for GE Vernova. From ground survey, LiDAR, and geotechnical investigation, we orchestrated seamless coordination to achieve project objectives.
The Coffey Testing – Adelaide team has been contracted for a period of 4-months, to assist with the construction of the a2 wall.
The Coffey Testing team were mobilised to site in early December 2023, with ongoing work until mid-March this year.
Our Coffey Testing team in the Northern Territory, have been undertaking a wide range of tests since their appointment to the project in October.
