Coffey Testing are proud to have assisted NEWest Alliance in the development of the METRONET Yanchep Rail Extension project.

The Yanchep Rail Extension will help support ongoing growth in the Perth region and provide more than 150,000 future residents another mode of transport to travel around Perth.

Since the beginning of its operations in 2020, Coffey Testing has been on-site, providing Geotechnical testing services and solutions to the project managers on the field. These include field and laboratory testing of bulk earthworks.

A project’s longevity is determined by two key factors: maintaining open communication among all teams and ensuring that the quality of construction materials meets project standards and NATA accreditations. These elements enhance efficiency and productivity, ultimately ensuring the project’s success.

Managing a project of this scope, with multiple office compounds, work fronts, and varying levels of quality control experience, can be challenging. However, the project’s Testing Supervisor, Paul Myers, had expertise in maintaining quality assurance, which was a crucial factor in ensuring that the overall project operations were managed smoothly and effectively.

Paul’s processes included the project management of all the testing samples across the project, whilst also maintaining clear communications with the engineers on-site and the QA office. His work ethic and commitment to quality assurance were so greatly valued that he received an Award of Recognition for his quality assurance practices.

Coffey Testing are proud to be a part of a project that promotes regional growth within Western Australia and are looking forward to the future outlook of the Yanchep Rail Extension, and any other Rail Infrastructure projects that are to follow.
