The end of an era has arrived for our original QESTLab guru, Herb Kaiserseder, who will officially be hanging up his Coffey Testing uniform and retiring this Friday. This year marks 28 years of dedicated support from Herb to the Coffey Testing business and we are beyond grateful for his invaluable contributions over the years. From Technician to Laboratory Manager to his current position of Operations Systems Manager, Herb’s technical knowledge coupled with his IT qualifications enabled him to excel in this position.
One of Herb’s most memorable and greatest achievements was the rolling out of QESTLab, Coffey Testing’s primary LIMS, across our laboratories Australia wide; a system Herb has maintained, refined, expanded, and improved from initial implementation to this day. Amongst Herb’s favourite memories are the Laboratory Manager meetings, where managers from all laboratories come together to team build and share ideas. Herb’s favourite part about working at Coffey Testing is “the people”, describing the staff as dedicated and enthusiastic. He states he is going to miss the people and the challenges of developing all of the “out of the box spreadsheets for new tests that aren’t in QESTLab” most.
Herb’s plan for retirement? Relax and travel Australia.
A few words from Dirk Janek, CEO of Spectra QEST –
“On behalf of everyone at Spectra QEST I would like to thank Herb for his support over the last 15 years. It was Herb’s commitment to the adoption of technology that led to Coffey initially trialling QESTLab in Albury and then adopting the platform nationally. We highly value his input which has in no small way helped shape our product offering over the years. A true gentleman, always considered and thoughtful. Without a doubt one of the customer representatives our team most enjoys working with. We wish him all the best for his retirement.”
And from the entire team at Coffey Testing; Herb, you are an extraordinary person who is always a pleasure to work with. Your knowledge of QESTLab, the industry, test methods, and visual basics programming is unsurpassed. Thank you for the last 28 years of support. We wish you all the best for your retirement, you will be missed, but we look forward to seeing you fulfill your travelling goals.
